I try not to follow trends. I wear what I like and what I think looks good on me, and this is basically my beauty and fashion rule. But when it comes to nail polish, I admit that I like trying the “it shades” of the season. And now that sandal season has come early this year – literally, a day or two after I posted “Pretty Polish”, warm weather rolled into Chicago – I can show off my new polish shades.

An Absolute Must
An after-shower ritual that is an absolute must for me is moisturizing my entire body, head to toe. Well, for the face, I obviously use facial products, and for the body, body products. The reason is a quarter comfort, a quarter health, and the rest vanity.
Almost Finished
I have an odd satisfaction with using up all of a beauty product. Especially makeup, since makeup is one of those things that I rarely use up and make a repeat purchase. And why?
Comfort Level
Last Saturday night, I was reminded of my apparently low tolerance of wearing a smoky eye or a more colored, dramatic look with eyeshadow. Because we were going out that night, I decided to do something fun – a subtle smoky eye with Burberry Midnight Brown eyeshadow, a beautiful chocolate shade, finished with black liner and mascara. But once I stepped away from the mirror, I looked like I was punched in both eyes. Therefore, I took it all off, and went back to my signature only black liner and super neutral shadow look.
Plan of Action
The oddest thing happened around the beginning of February – I started breaking out like a frenzied, hormone-infused teenager. Prior to this last month of monstrous blemishes, I rarely broke out, and could get by with a simple cleanser, the wonderful Dermalogica Microfoliant, facial oil, and moisturizer. But for the last seemingly endless weeks, my face has had huge zit after huge zit. I went through all the things I used on my face, but couldn’t seem to find the culprit. I finally attributed it to the fact that I am still au chômage* and working on a job application almost everyday. But come on. I’m in my mid-twenties, not my mid-teens!
