Almost Finished

I have an odd satisfaction with using up all of a beauty product. Especially makeup, since makeup is one of those things that I rarely use up and make a repeat purchase. And why?

1) I love trying out new beauty stuff, so it is a really easy sell for me to try out different products. I do run a beauty blog, after all! 2) With maybe the exception of mascara, it is just difficult for me to finish makeup before I switch to something that I think might be even better. 3) I think some cosmetic products, like powder eyeshadow and blush, are hard to reach the end with. Unless you are a professional makeup artist and use products at a much higher rate! Ah, my dream job – being a makeup artist for fashion shows. But in this case, this NARS blush is about up because I’ve used it almost on a daily basis for the better part of the year.

I suppose the satisfaction comes from the fact that I must really like what the beauty product does for me if I use it so much that it reaches towards the end of its lining or blushing capacity. And I must love it if I become a repeat purchaser of the product. Speaking of that, although I do like the NARS face primer (in the first photo), I think L’Oréal’s Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base works just as nicely, if not better. Plus, it’s less than half the price of the NARS one!

So perhaps except for the NARS face primer, I plan on repurchasing the blush and pencils featured in the photos. In fact, I’ve already gone through almost three of the Urban Decay liners! By the way, I keep eye liners and brow pencils that are almost finished (down to about an inch, give or take) in my purse catch-all pouch. This way, I can have them for touch-ups, without having to carry long pencils in my purse. And Kristina gave this elegant pouch as a gift to me many years ago. I love purse catch-all pouches, especially this one!
