As of late, things have been so busy… work, preparing for our trip to France in July (so incredibly excited!), and life in general has left me only wanting to relax on the couch with a glass of wine while watching House Hunters International. So my apologies for my month long sojourn from the blog!
With that out of the way, I would love to share a new review with you. With my busier-than-usual schedule and the weather getting much warmer, I have been using my Benetint like crazy! Benetint is a beautiful, rose-colored liquid cheek and lip stain from Benefit, and has been around for quite awhile… although I think it hit the big time, outside the makeup artist circle, in the 90s. I will always have a place in my heart for powder blushes (my favorite ones are from NARS), but the Benetint is great because I dab or swipe 2-3x on each cheek, quickly blend with my finger, and voila! Done! Quick and easy, especially in the morning when I’m rushing to get out of the apartment. I am left with a pretty flush on my cheeks that looks natural and from within. Plus, I’ve found that it looks great in both natural and office lighting, and stays on ALL day. Even when it is super warm outside!
So since it is a cheek stain… should you apply it before or after foundation? I usually put it on after applying a bit of base, or if I do no base, then before concealer. I especially apply Benetint before concealer if I have something to cover on my cheeks. No use in wiping away something you just applied!
I love this product for a translucent, bare skin look. You can also use Benetint for a sheer stain on your lips. And on an interesting note, the product was created in the 1970s based on a request from an exotic dancer. The dancer wanted something that would make her nipples look rosier (awesome!) – thus the birth of Benetint. Benetint even smells like roses! So there are three ways you can use the stain…
