The Beauty Lists, Makeup – Face

I love lists. But not only do I enjoy making them – there is just something about physically writing down what you need or have to do – I really do enjoy reading them. Especially in a magazine, when they ask a person “Favorite skincare product?” or “Favorite mascara?” or those “Best of Beauty [insert year]” that are in most magazines annualy.

So I decided to write my own lists of my favorite beauty items right now. Over the next couple weeks, I will post the lists, which revolve around makeup, skincare, body, and hair. Some of the beauty products are new favorites, others have been in my kit for years. I also included the shades of base and concealer I wear so you can gauge your own shade. And of course, most categories have more than one favorite product of mine – though not that I use these all at once!

I hope you enjoy the first list, Makeup – Face.

PrimerClarins Beauty Flash Balm. I use this more to tighten and depuff my face than a primer per se, but I do think it is a nice base for makeup. I highly recommend it, even if you don’t wear any makeup. L’Oréal No. 1 Magic Perfecting Base really smoothes the skin and  is comparable, if not better, than many higher-priced primers.

Base Dior HydraLife BB Cream in #01 or Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup in #B12 for everyday – both are a very light and diffuse any redness. I like NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Alaska for a tinted moisturizer. For when I know I’m going to be photographed, a night out, a special occasion, or just some extra coverage, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in #5.

ConcealerMarc Jacobs Beauty Remedy Concealer Pen in #2 Wake-Up Call is fantastic around the eyes. Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in #SC-2 for spot concealing. Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer in Ivory, L’Oréal True Match Super-Blendable Concealer in N1-2-3, and L’Oréal True Match Super-Blendable Crayon Concealer in Fair/Light Neutral for all-around concealers.

PowderChanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder in #020 gives a velvety, airbrushed finish. Chanel Poudre Universelle Compact Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Translucent 1 is always in my purse or clutch. I also like L’Oréal True Match Super-Blendable Powder in #N2.

Blush  – NARS Blush in Doceur and Sex Appeal are my favorite powder blushes, Doceur being a nice dusty rose and Sex Appeal being a super light peachy rose. I’ve tried many, many blushes, and seem to always go back to NARS. Benefit Benetint for a nice flush. Chanel Le Blush Crème de Chanel in Revelation is my new favorite. Stila Convertible Color in Lillium is a reliable, neutral cream blush.

BronzerNARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna. All the three bronzer shades are great – almost zero shimmer and can also be used to contour.

Contour and Highlight – A splurge and honestly at first I didn’t know what the fuss was about. But now I use this almost everyday  – Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate in Intensity #2. The highlighter part gives the  perfect natural sheen on my eyes and cheekbones. Other favorites – NARS Multiple in Copacabana and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone and Pearl.

Next up: Makeup – Eyes and Lips and Tools.
