This final post in The Beauty Lists series kicks off’s first post of 2014. Thank you to all my readers for tuning in and following my blog. May this year bring you health and happiness!

Without further ado, here are my top choices in Hair and Body + Fragrance.

Shampoo and Conditioner – Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. I finally have been washing my hair less often with this product. Perhaps every three days more or less, and in conjunction with dry shampoo to revive my hair a bit. I even skate by with using less product, maybe 7-8 pumps for my long hair instead of the recommended 10-12. It might even be more than that! I tried switching back to a normal shampoo during Christmas, and my hair just wasn’t the same as it was when using Wen.

Dry Shampoo – Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oak Milk. I actually like how my hair looks on the second or third day if I use this. I also spray it into my hair before I put it up in a bun so it is easier to work with.

Hair Oil – Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Hair Oil. Smells like candy, in a good way. I use it after washing my hair, and I run it over dry hair for a bit of shine and to tame flyways. David Mallet Hair Serum #DM027 is superb, as it is a light oil (I don’t think you can over do it if you tried, it’s that light). I think the packaging is so chic, and it would make a great luxe gift.

Hair Pomade – Bumble and bumble Sumotech. Perfect for flyways when my hair is up or molding hair. I love it for men too (I actually use Hakim’s) because it isn’t shiny.

Hair Spray – Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium for a soft hold, plus it smells great (the Strong Hold is still soft too, FYI). L’Oréal Satin Elnett Extra  Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray for when I really need something to last all day.

Texturizer – Bumble and bumble Surf Spray. The original salt spray for texture, and it remains my favorite.

Styling Lotion – Bumble and bumble Thickening Hair Spray for extra body and hold. I like to think it adds some protection before heat styling my hair.

Hair Bands and Pins – Blax Hair Bands and these Japanese bobby pinsSephora also sells the Blax bands, which is convenient. I like these Japanese bobby pins because they are much stronger than regular bobby pins.

Hair Brush – I love my Mason Pearson, it really is a great hairbrush. If you take care of it, it will last for a long time (I’ve had mind for five years running now). These also make great gifts – the Handy size made for my mother and sister’s gifts this past Christmas. A less pricy option is this Sonia Kashuk one, which is said to be very comparable.

Body Wash – Dove Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash and Oil of Olay Age Defying Body Wash with Vitamin E. Both leave my skin feeling balanced.

Bar Soap – We like to travel with a little Dove Bar Soap, as it is just easy to travel with. I also like Molton Brown Re-Charge Black Pepper Body Scrub Bar and Jack Black Turbo Body Bar Scrub. While the last two seem masculine, I actually prefer them than flowery scented ones. The Jack Black was an impulse buy by Hakim and I in Nordstrom’s Mens Section. Right by the register, so crafty.

Body Scrub – Kiehl’s Cremé de Corps Soy Milk and Honey Body Polish smells absolutely divine and has just the right texture and ratio of scrub.

Body Lotion – Jergens Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer is effective, not heavy, and has been a staple for Hakim and I. Another good one is Kiehl’s Créme de Corps. I love the look of the giant bottles, they look like big vats!

Body Oil – My new favorite body oil is L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil, mostly because of the lovely scent. But it is a really great oil because it sinks in just right. Neutrogena Original Body Oil, especially during warmer weather, is also a favorite of ours. Another great smelling oil is Goe All Over Body Oil – I like to rub it into my cuticles and hands. Can you tell I love body oils?

Body Oil Wash – I love body oils so much that of course I had to try this classic, L’Occitane Cleansing and Softening Shower Oil. It has that wonderful almond scent, and while I don’t use it to just wash with (I prefer more oomph with a regular body wash or bar), it really pampers your skin, feels amazing in the shower, and leaves skin super-super soft.

Shave Cream and Razor – Cremo Cream  is my top choice. A tube lasts forever because you only need just a little bit (Cremo plus water creates a nice, slick surface) and you can find it at the drugstore. I finally had Hakim try it, and he is hooked. Aveeno Shave Gel is a close second (right now we have the Men’s version). As for shaving utensils, Mach3 Razor forever! Or until its discontinued.

Me – Cartier Basier Volé and Clarins Eau Dynamisante have been my go-tos for most of the year. Three cab drivers asked me what perfume I’m wearing when I have the Cartier one on, and then where they can buy it for their wives. So it is a hit with the Chicago cab drivers. I like the Clarins when I want something light but woody, and the scent is really energizing, if that makes sense. Two new favorites are Diptyque Philosykos and Byredo Oud Immortal. The Diptyque was a gift from Hakim, and it is this beautify woody, fig fragrance. I love it because it is not too sweet, but still quite feminine. The Byredo was my birthday gift to myself. I like to think it has an elegant, but sultry scent.

Men – I bought Hakim Tom Ford Oud Wood for his birthday this year, and it smells divine. I don’t want to say sex in a bottle, but it really is a handsome perfume-cologne. It is unisex, sometimes I steal a spray!
